The strength of titanium rods depends mainly on its material. Here are the differences between TA1, TA2, TC4 and TC11 titanium rods:
TA1 pure titanium rod
TA1 titanium rod is one of the softest and most ductile metals. Compared with other metal rods, TA1 has a high level of formability and corrosion resistance, while also having strong impact toughness. TA1 titanium rods are widely used in fields such as chemical processing, construction and automotive parts, especially in the medical industry for surgical implants and devices.
TA2 pure titanium rod
TA2 titanium rod is known as the “workhorse” of commercial pure titanium, providing useful strength. Compared with TA1, TA2 has a slightly higher strength and excellent weldability, strength and ductility, making it a conventional choice for industry. TA2 titanium rods can be used in similar applications as TA1, but can also be used in power generation, hydrocarbon processing and desalination.
TC4 titanium alloy rod
TC4 titanium alloy rod is known for its high strength and low weight, while also having corrosion resistance. Its strength can be further improved through heat treatment. TC4 titanium alloy is widely used in aerospace, marine and medical industries, and can also be used in chemical processing. In addition, TC4 titanium rods are also used to manufacture aircraft turbines, engine components and automatic parts.
TC11 titanium alloy rod
TC11 titanium alloy has a nominal composition of Ti-6.5Al-3.5Mo-1.5Zr-0.3Si, which is an α-β type titanium alloy heat-resistant titanium alloy. TC11 titanium alloy is widely used in aviation applications, with a service temperature of up to 500℃, and is mainly used for parts of aircraft engine compressors, such as blades, disks, drums and shafts. It can also be made into special-shaped castings, suitable for use in the annealed state for 500 hours below 500℃ and 100 hours below 550℃ and 1000 hours below 450℃, and in the strengthened state for parts working for 100 hours below 500℃ and parts working once below 700℃.
By understanding the characteristics of these titanium rods, you can better choose titanium rod products that suit your needs.
